Once-Online-Only Brands Will Open 850 Brick-And-Mortar Stores Over Next Five Years


Back in 2015, at JLL Retail we put together our five-year strategic plan looking at current market trends and where we thought they would end up in, you guessed it, five years. As part of the planning discussion for the strategy, we predicted that by 2020 the industry would no longer be talking about the dichotomy of brick and mortar between online – and begin referring to it once again as simply, retail. Now, I don’t know if we will be able to definitively say that this will come to fruition in essentially one year’s time, but there is no doubt we are far closer to that being accurate than not.
